Directions

The approach road into York RI is off Queen Street in York, not far from York Railway Station. Approaching from the station end of Queen Street, you will need to make a sharp right turn into the approach road - it's almost a hairpin. From the other direction the road is at a shallow angle to Queen Street, like a slip road. This approach road runs lower than Queen Street, has cobbles and passes in front of a row of older terraced houses. The entrance to it is around 60 metres from the junction with the traffic lights by Micklegate Bar.

Drive down the approach road for about 50 metres until you pass under a footbridge, then take the left turn. This takes you under a second footbridge and past York RI, which is the large brick-built building to your right. Continue past some outbuildings to find either the limited amount of free parking behind the hall or the pay-on-exit car park beyond.

Alternatively, the RI is within easy walking distance of York Railway Station and close to a number of frequent bus services.

On-site Access

Find the entrance to the hall at the corner of the building that is closest to Queen Street and the city walls.
