About the Club
Hessle & District Badminton Club
The club was founded in 1961 at Penshurst School, Hessle as the 'Hessle & District Badminton Club' but moved to Wolfreton School, its current base, in 1966.
It is primarily an adult (18) club but juniors aged 13 can join provided they have an adult relative who is also a member to cover their welfare aspects. No coaching is provided so new members need to be able to play the game to a reasonable social standard. Club night is Tuesday evening from 7.00 to 9.00 pm (July to September) and 6.30 to 9.30 pm (October to May).
The club has a number of teams in the Hull & District League for those members who want competitive play and also runs internal tournaments and social events for the benefit of members.

Directions
Route 1: Travel along Main Street, from Willerby Square, pass the Star Inn and at the bottom of a small hill turn right into Well Lane. Pass Willerby Manor Hotel on your right and a few houses before turning second right into the school grounds. Park in the main car park or continue past the right hand end of the main school block into the Sports Hub car park. Walk to the left hand end of the Sports building and you will find the entrance round the corner to your right.
Route 2: If coming from the A164 Humber Bridge / Beverley Road turn off at the Willerby exit then at the next roundabout take Great Gutter Lane past the Aldi store and at the T junction turn right and then left into Well Lane. Follow the remaining directions in Route 1.
Route 3: If travelling up Kingston Road towards Willerby Square turn right after leaving Hull down Wolfreton Lane or continue to the Hop Pole roundabout and turn right down The Parkway. Both roads will bring you to a roundabout. Exit the roundabout along Carr lane and take the next right onto Ashgate Road. Follow this as it bends a few times to a T junction at Well Lane. Turn left to the school entrance on your left just before the houses re-commence. Once in the school grounds follow the directions in Route 1.
